CONFERENCE CANCELLED!
Date : November 15th 2002
Name : Patient Safety in Numbers
Location : Institute of Directors
An impressive cast of speakers has been put together for this event. ECRI is particularly pleased to welcome Professor Sir Liam Donaldson, Chief Medical Officer for England and Associate Professor Stephen Bolsin, Director of the Division of Perioperative Medicine, Anaesthesia and Pain management at the Geelong Hospital, Victoria, Australia. Both Sir Liam and professor Bolsin are key figures in the development of the patient safety and quality agendas in the UK. Professor Bolsin as 'whistle blower' at the Bristol Royal Infirmary, and Sir Liam for his seminal role in developing clinical governance, which has brought both him and the NHS in England international acclaim. Professor Bolsin is pioneering work in Australia, in conjunction with the Australian/New Zealand College of Anaesthetists, and internationally on use of Palm Pilot-based incident and clinical performance data capture for use in personal development monitoring and improving the safety and quality of care in anaesthesia ( although his work is transferable across all clinical specialities).
